Journey to Longevity & Lasting Lifestyle Change Sessions on Thursdays @ 4:15 pm February-May, 2010 All SCS members are welcome to attend any “Journey” sessions. March 4, “The Blue Zones” An in-depth look at which areas in the world house the healthiest, happiest and oldest people. March 11, “De-Tox Your Mind” Pick a day to turn off the TV, only use the computer if absolutely necessary and don’t read the newspaper. Take the time you saved and practice some stress-reduction techniques (deep breathing, meditation, etc.). Cleanse your mind of the media toxins that poison your thought process. March 18, “Qi Gung” Combine simple movements, breath and visualization in this ancient Chinese longevity exercise program. Dr. Oz practices Qi Gung daily. March 25, “Cooking with Spices” Light and healthy cooking with Donna. Use the same five veggies to create curried vegetables, fajita-style vegetables, and stir-fried vegetables with basmati rice. Nia Technique Special Tuesday, March 16 from 11 am-11:45 am Join Vivian Shackelford, certified Nia Instructor, as you experience a “NIA” class– flowing, natural movement with incredible music. |
